The Beginning

Waking up one day and seeing 237 light up on the scale isn’t like finding an extra $20 when you put on last years winter coat. Not exciting.

My hubs is pretty cool about my fat-ness. Although he is supportive, I don’t think he’s THAT excited about my desire for weight loss surgery. Whatever. He’s a guy. Guys lose weight by breathing. It’s not the same horrible all consuming battle against good and evil that we women fight daily. Kudos to him for being a good pretend-listener and smiling at me. He’s put up with my brand of crap for 12 years and I truly believe he keeps coming back for more because he’s never quite sure what is going to happen next.

In February 2012 I started having problems with my heart pounding and rolling in my chest. Thousands of dollars of medical tests later, turned out to be stress. I do have high blood pressure that is well controlled with medication. Bottom line, my doc said I would benefit from weight loss surgery. And the journey began…
